Dear Homer Davis Families,
Thank you for your support, commitment, and dedication to making Homer Davis Elementary School an outstanding place to work and learn. The 2015-16 school year has been a great success! May is our busiest month of the year. Please review the school eventcalendar for all of the upcoming events and performances so you can make arrangements to attend these special programs that involve your child.
With so much hard work and effort put in your child’s education, our summer goal is to sustain academic progress made throughout the school year. Therefore, keep encouraging your child to solve math problems and read for comprehension during the summer months. Participating in our no fee/grant funded skills for success summer school program is a great way to keep the mind active. SKILLS will take place at Homer Davis Elementary School this summer. Classes include reading, math, science, writing, technology, art, music, sports, and much more. Extra summer SKILLS and Project S.T.A.R. registration booklets are available in the Homer Davis front office and were sent home several weeks ago. Will Roberts will be our SKILLS coordinator. Feel free to give him a call at (520) 442-7989.
We are also offering a summer reading program for incoming K-2 students. Please give our reading lab a call at (520) 696-8256.
We would like to wish our 6th grade students the best of luck at the junior high next year and look forward to seeing everyone else back at school on Thursday, August 11, 2016. It has been an honor and privilege to work with you this year! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your family. Read with someone, enjoy your time, and recharge this summer in preparation for another outstanding school year in 2016-17. Thank you for making Homer Davis your school of choice!
